Basic Firefighting Training – April 2015

In an effort to create awareness for fire related accidents, a special firefighting training program was conducted on 17 April 2015 for our workers employed at construction sites in and around Male’. More than 150 of our site staff participated in this program.

The course was designed to equip learners with the knowledge and necessary skills to manage and extinguish a fire at home and in the work environment, using a variety of skills and various firefighting equipment.

The participants were educated on general respect for fire to make employees aware of fire risks at home and in the workplace in a 1 hour theory session followed by the practical session where all participants were introduced to basic firefighting equipment and their proper use in extinguishing fires.

This training program was organized by the company, in association with the Fire and Rescue Services of Maldives National Defence Force.

We are deeply thankful and appreciative to MNDF, especially Sergeant Shaheen Mohamed who was instrumental in organizing and conducting the program and making it a success.
