Led by Housing and Infrastructure Redevelopment Unit (HIRU), the construction of 71 houses in Kudahuvadhoo, the capital island of Dhaalu Atoll began in June 2006 and was completed in August of 2007. The Housing Project was initiated in 2004 after the post-tsunami evacuation of Gemendhoo and Vanee residents to the island.

The scope of work includes preliminaries, ground works, concrete works, masonry, plastering, roofing, metal and wood works, ceiling, doors and windows, tiling, painting, water proofing, finishing, hydraulics and drainage works and electrical works.
